Secretary | monthly commitment
Treasurer | monthly commitment + major events
Communication Lead (EN & FR) | weekly commitment
PTA Lower School Coordinator
PTA Lower School Campus Representative
Teacher Appreciation Coordinator | seasonal
Pizza Co-Lead, Manor & Village Campus | weekly (Mondays)
Spirit Store Coordinator | flexible
The PTA Secretary is the person who keeps everything on record and on track, a central, genuinely useful role and a very manageable one, even with a busy schedule.
What it involves:
Taking notes at monthly PTA board meetings (usually one meeting per month)
Preparing and distributing meeting agendas and minutes
Maintaining key PTA documents and records
Managing official PTA correspondence
Ensuring follow-ups and action items don't slip through the cracks between meetings
What makes it a great fit:
It's a behind-the-scenes role with real impact: you help the board stay organized and accountable, and you get a front-row seat to everything the PTA does. No prior board or PTA experience is required, just someone who's attentive, reliable, and comfortable taking clear notes (with pen, keyboard or AI)
Time commitment:
One board meeting per month (morning, approximately 1.5 hours), plus a small amount of time before and after for agenda prep and minutes. Light and predictable throughout the year.

The PTA Treasurer is the one who keeps our finances healthy and transparent, managing the PTA's budget so that every dollar raised goes where it should.
What it involves:
Managing the PTA budget and tracking income and expenses across events and programs
Processing reimbursements for board members and event leads
Preparing a clear financial summary for monthly board meetings
Coordinating with event leads on budgets and vendor payments
Ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date
What makes it a great fit:
It sounds more intimidating than it is. You don't need to be an accountant, just someone who's comfortable with numbers, organized, and reliable. The tools are simple, and the full board is there to support you. It's a concrete, high-impact way to contribute to the community.
Time commitment:
A few hours per month for ongoing tracking, plus preparation time ahead of each board meeting. Slightly busier around major events (Book Fair, Kermesse, Dรฎner en Blanc) when more transactions flow through.

Good news: we've already found an Anglophone Communications Lead for next year. Now we need the French-speaking partner to complete the duo!
The Communications Lead is the voice of the PTA, the person who makes sure our community stays informed, connected, and engaged. As the Francophone lead, you'll work alongside your Anglophone counterpart to produce bilingual content across all PTA channels.
What it involves:
Producing the French-language content for the weekly Fastimes newsletter (PTA section)
Contributing to the PTA website, Facebook group, and WhatsApp communication
Collaborating with your Anglophone counterpart to ensure consistent, bilingual messaging
Coordinating with PTA board members and event leads to gather content each week
Keeping the community tone warm, clear, and inclusive
What makes it a great fit:
You don't need to be a professional writer or a social media expert. If you're comfortable writing in French, enjoy keeping things organized, and like the idea of helping a community stay connected, this role is for you. Tools and workflows are already in place, you'll receive a full handover and ongoing support from the outgoing lead and the board.
Time commitment:
A few hours per week, mostly around newsletter production (content gathering, drafting, reviewing). The rhythm is predictable and fits around a busy schedule. Heavier during event-heavy weeks, lighter during school breaks.

Pizza Monday is one of FASNY's most beloved weekly traditions, and one of the most visible. Every Monday, hundreds of kids across Manor and Village Campuses enjoy a hot pizza lunch with fresh fruit, made possible by parent volunteers and coordinated by a small team of dedicated leads.
For 2026โ2027, we're moving to a co-lead model: 2 co-leads per campus (Manor and Village). Why? Because a weekly commitment is much easier, and more fun, when you share it with someone. You'll be able to split tasks, cover for each other, and keep things running smoothly all year long.
You are the person who makes Monday lunch happen. Concretely, that means:
Coordinating the weekly volunteer schedule (via SignUpGenius)
Picking up the pizza order from the vendor and prepping boxes and fruit before service
Being on-site during lunch to oversee the service and make sure everything runs smoothly
Communicating with the PTA board on supplies, budget, and any issues
Welcoming and guiding new volunteers, many parents sign up for their first shift with you
The time commitment is Mondays from approximately 10:45 AM to 1:15 PM during the school year. Outside of Mondays, it's minimal, mostly a quick check on the volunteer sign-up sheet and occasional coordination with your co-lead and the PTA board.
No prior PTA or board experience. No food service background. No special skills beyond being organized and friendly. You'll receive a full handover and training from the outgoing leads, and the PTA board is always available for support.ย
This is one of the most rewarding volunteer roles at FASNY. You get to see your child in their natural habitat, watching them with their friends, their teachers, in the rhythm of a school day. You'll become a familiar face on campus and build real connections with other parents, faculty, and staff.
Fair warning: the kids will love you for it. Don't be surprised if you start getting recognized at Trader Joe's or at soccer practice.
This role is a great fit if you're available on Mondays during school hours (even every other Monday with your co-lead), enjoy being hands-on, and like the idea of contributing to something the whole school community looks forward to every week.
We'd love to tell you more. Reach out to us at pta@fasny.org, no commitment required, just a conversation.
Love school spirit and community events? This is a creative, flexible role that lets you make a visible impact and have fun doing it.
The Spirit Store Coordinator manages FASNY's spirit wear program: selecting items families will love, running the PTA's online shop, and showing up at a handful of school events during the year to sell gear and spread the spirit.
What it involves:
Choosing and ordering spirit wear (t-shirts, hoodies, accessories) ยท Managing the online store and inventory ยท Coordinating order pickups ยท Setting up at a few school events ยท Promoting new items through school communications ยท Tracking sales with the PTA Treasurer
What makes it a great fit:
Flexible and manageable alongside a busy schedule ยท Creative freedom to choose and showcase the gear ยท A social, visible role that builds school pride ยท Meaningful contribution to PTA fundraising
Time commitment:ย
Light and flexible throughout the year, with a bit more activity around store launches and key school events. Storage of inventory at home required (a few boxes depending on the season).
No prior experience needed, just enthusiasm and a bit of organizational flair.
