Brenda Cain
I am the librarian at Washington Elementary School in Fargo. Library has been a second career for me as I spent 26 years in middle school before finding the library. The makerspace and coding lessons fit right in with my passion to help kids find ways to create and develop curiosity.
My picture is with Caldecott winning author, Andrea Wang. She visited our school in the fall of 2023. Her book "Watercress" is fantastic and students loved it.
I have recently found a passion nonfiction picture books. For the past couple years, my students and I have been seeking the Sibert Award winner, which is the best nonfiction book for kids from the ALA. The students are so engaged with the books and share so many things as they read them. I am always looking for more ways to get the picture books into the hands of the readers.
