Presented by RWL at F&M in collaboration with local bilingual theatre group, Lancaster's Teatro Paloma, Dolores Prida's 1991 play Botánica tells the story of Millie (Milagros), a recent college grad who returns from her Ivy-league campus to her family home in NYC, where she is faced with the conflict between preserving her past and charting a new future for herself. Themes of differing intergenerational cultural attitudes and gentrification that Mille and her mother and grandmother work through in this play are the same today as in the early 1990s.
