What is a Resume?
It’s a summary of your personal, educational, leadership and work experiences, accomplishments and skills.
It’s a tool used to secure a job interview or enhance your college application by highlighting your key experiences.

What is a cover letter?
A cover letter/email is the professional way to introduce yourself, your background and your potential to an employer. It is a “cover” or introductory letter/email for your resume which you should send as an attachment. In your letter, you should include the skills you developed as a volunteer, in your classes, doing a project, in a leadership role or any other extracurricular activities that relate to the position.

Looking for a part time job? Check out the FWHS & FLHS job board. The employers listed have either hired high school students or posted a position with the high school in the past. The College and Career Center posts jobs as a service for FLHS & FWHS students from local citizens and businesses. We do not attest the suitability of our student workers or the suitability of our employers. Students and their parents are responsible for making their own decisions about prospective employers.
Thank You Letters
Writing a thank you letter after a job or internship interview or interviewing with a college admissions representative is always a great idea to reinforce your interest and thank them for their time. Click here to access the thank you letter guide.
