Step 1: Introduction to Chromebooks Video
Project the video and watch with students - Students open Chromebooks and follow the set-up steps. PAUSE video as students complete each task below:
Setup Chromebook:
@ ~ 0:29-0:48 - Turn on Chromebook, Select On-screen instructions for Language (English), Connect to network, Log in (Username/Password). CLOSE tab for ClassLink if it pops up. Change profile picture in step 4 below.
Navigating your Chromebook:
@ ~ 1:15-1:40 - Click on the APPS Launcher, the circle on the bottom left of your screen, and do the following:
find the Google Docs, Sheets and Slides apps, and drag them into the same FOLDER, find the Google Drive app and PIN it to the shelf
@ ~ 1:40-2:10 - Click on STATUS AREA, on the bottom right of your screen, and explore the following features (top to bottom, left to right):
check wifi connectivity, Bluetooth enabled, sound (speaker icon), settings (gear icon), ? for help search, power button to shut down, date, % battery & time left
@ ~ 2:10 - Practice the scroll, right click and shortcut directions (CTRL+ALT+?)
Step 2: Chromebook Shortcuts and Tips:
1. Watch the Shortcuts Video (~1min) and practice the steps
2. Click on this Shortcut Sheet link and practice how to do the following:
Split Screen to view two windows at one time
Take a screenshot and paste it in your science slide (or a Google doc) in your Chromebook DTD folder in your Google drive
3. Download and save the shortcut sheet in your Chromebook DTD folder in your Google drive

Watch the Saving Images Video (~2 min). Ignore suggestion in beginning of video to create a new Google folder for project.
FIND and SAVE an image in your Chromebook DTD folder in your Google drive
Use that image for your profile pic on your Chromebook
Step 5: Editing Images
Watch the Drawing Video (~5 min). Create a drawing and save it in your Chromebook DTD folder in your Google drive.
