Building on the experience and skills gained during BGE, pupils will develop a response to themes which interest them in both Expressive and Design practical activities. At this level pupils would be expected to study the following units across S4 & S5:

Expressive Activity

Pupils will choose an appropriate theme and explore composition, technique and media e.g. Drawing, Painting, Collage, Printmaking and Sculpture.

Design Activity

Working to an agreed brief, pupil will explore themes and media using a variety of possible solutions. The Design activity could focus on one of many options: Product Design, Graphic design, Jewellery, Millinery and Fashion and Textiles.

Art and Design Studies

Pupils research will link directly to the practical activities in both the Expressive and the Design Units. The research will inform and inspire pupils within their own Expressive and Design projects.
