Setup Rules and Actions on Drop-down Datasets...
Datasets are particularly useful when you want users to be able to choose from lists of options that are too long for a drop-down menu or select multiple items from a list.
PMEs or site admins can set up the Main and dependent drop-down lists with the datasets and use these in the forms to define rules and actions so end-users can extract the corresponding values during form submission.
Begin with:
Step 1: Create a dataset for main and dependent drop-down lists.
Note: Separate the Main value from the dependent value with a dash in the dependent dataset.
Step 2: Include it in the Select from the list module forms.
Step 3: Add rules, events, and filter conditions to trigger the drop-down list actions.
Note: In Form Rules, set the event as "Change" and Filter by to Starts with the field list names.
The resultant drop-down dataset displays within the project form and allows the selection of values based on the configured drop-down datasets and form rules and actions.
