While we always want to retain every agent here at eXp, we understand career plans may change. It's our goal to make either onboarding or offboarding (at the agent's request) as smooth and seamless as possible.
Per the Independent Contractor Agreement (p.2) & US Policies and Procedures Guide (p.27), if you plan to exit from eXp Realty and terminate your Independent Contractor Agreement with eXp Realty, LLC, you must notify your Broker in writing in advance of offboard. Please utilize the Request to offboard from eXp Realty form to process your offboard in full. This notification assists us in the process of releasing your license from eXp, and notifying our back end system utilities that you've opted to exit from eXp so they can, in turn, turn off all systems and billing. This notice will count as your notice to the Broker.
If you are just taking a break from real estate, you may want to consider our Referral Division.

Until the agent notifies the Broker in writing that they will be offboarding from eXp, eXp systems will reflect the agent as active with eXp Realty. While the agent is active, the monthly tech fee, as well as any other special program fees, will continue to accrue. PLEASE NOTE, eXp is not notified when an agent changes to a new Brokerage. The Independent Contractor Agreement is between you, the agent, and eXp Realty, LLC and defines that you, as the agent in the contract, must provide the notification of intent to exit and terminate the agreement.
On page 13 of the Independent Contractor Agreement, the "Current Fee & Commission Schedule" addendum states:
"Payment/Funding Source: Both a primary and secondary/backup electronic funds transfer funding source, one of which must be an Automatic Clearing House (ACH) source, for payment of any and all recurring and non-recurring fees and amounts due from Contractor under this ICA must be on file and kept current. Unused portions of any fees previously paid will not be credited/prorated. Unpaid fees, charges, repayments, and any other amounts Contractor owes to Company can and will be deducted directly from any and all of Contractor's pending and future earnings that would otherwise be payable to Contractor by eXp Realty".
Page 27 of the U.S Policies and Procedures Guide, Offboarding is further addressed, recording the below on the offboarding process:
"In the event agent leaves Company, their termination date will be determined by the date notice was given by either party as referenced in the Independent Contractor Agreement. Agent billing shall continue unless written notice to offboard was delivered to Company by agent or agent was terminated by Company. Any prepaid fees, dues, or other billable items are non-refundable."
Please keep in mind that if you request to offboard (or terminate your Independent Contractor Agreement) at the end of a month, that does not constitute bypassing a full month of billing. accounting@exprealty.com should be contacted in advance of termination to determine your billing cycle as it correlates with the date of requested termination, as there may be days left between your termination date and the date of your monthly billing.
