Booking Guidelines

Arrival: Fly into Madrid, Spain (Madrid Barajas International Airport, airport code: MAD) 

• Arrive anytime between 6:00 (6am) and 15:00 (3pm) on the day your program starts.

• Students will be transferred to the home base in Toledo in 2 transfers. Students should expect to be waiting at the airport for up to 4 hours. 

Departure: Fly out of Barcelona, Spain (Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat Airport, airport code BCN)

• Depart anytime between 08:00 (8am) and 18:00 (6pm) on the day your program ends.

• Students should expect to wait at the airport for longer than 3 hours.

      • • GLA recommends families avoid booking connecting flights on separate tickets and to avoid flights on Spirit or Frontier Airlines.

        • When booking directly with the airline, they may require passengers to present the credit card used to book the flight at check-in.

Unaccompanied Minor Program

• • • Unaccompanied Minor Program: Typically, this program is required by airlines for travelers 14 years & younger when traveling alone (each airline is different). 

    • Please contact us if you’ve purchased the optional Unaccompanied Minor service for your student and require a point of contact for arrival/departure.

Suggested Route

For each program, we suggest a flight route that is the most direct, with the fewest number of stops, and always leaving from a US gateway airport. Check the suggested routes on the Flight Portal.
