Attached below are the forms you will need for your student to pass through immigration upon arrival in South Africa. The following completed documentation is required for minors, 17 and under, traveling to South Africa. Entry to South Africa WILL BE DENIED if a student does not carry these forms with them through immigration. Please complete these forms and supply the additional information listed below for your student to carry through immigration. Be sure your student keeps these forms in their carry-on luggage in order to show them at immigration! GLA does not need a copy of these forms.

An original or certified copy of student birth certificate
A notarized photocopy of both parents’ passports or driver’s licenses.
A completed & notarized Affidavit of Consent signed by both parents (In the packet above)
A completed letter from the receiving person in South Africa, listing their full contact information - Fill in the student name, date of birth and passport number (In the packet linked above)
A copy of the receiving person’s ID (In the packet linked above)

Information on the immigration requirements for minors traveling to South Africa can be found on the South Africa Department of Home Affairs Website.
Please note US citizens are not required to obtain a visa for South Africa. For other nationalities, please check with a South African embassy/consulate to determine if a visa is required. All minors, regardless of nationality, are required to complete and carry the above forms.
