Classwork/Homework Policy:
Homework/Classwork/Reminders will be written each day by your child in their planner. Please check to make sure that their classwork has been completed. You can check their planners, as well as check their progress in Google Classroom. Failure to complete assignments on time could effect your child's grade. The majority of homework will be finishing incomplete class work to be turned in the next day (along with nightly reading and nightly math fact practice).

Third graders are expected to read 20 minutes each night in a book at their reading level for Trimester One, 25 min. for Trimester Two, and 30 min. for Trimester 3. Research has shown daily independent reading to be one of the most important factors in predicting student success in school. Please encourage your child to read daily, and ask questions about what he/she is reading!

Students are also expected to practice math facts for 10 minutes each day. A variety of fun ideas for practicing math facts will be sent home for your student to choose from. They can also work on Xtra Math assignments at home, even though they will be doing this In class daily. They more they practice, the quicker they are to pass and know all their facts.

In addition to reading and practicing math facts, students may also have vocabulary, math skill practice, writing, cursive review, or reading comprehension practice. They will only have one extra sheet of homework, along with reading and math, nightly. Students are given time In class to work on homework If they finish their work early. We will grade homework In class the next day. Please check their red folder nightly for this as well as to take out unneeded or old work.
