COMMUNITY BUILDING
Family & Community Resource - Grace Church Donation $20,000- Camas Washington
Thank you to Grace Church for their $20,000 donation to the Family & Community Resource Center Program. Their generosity will go a long way in supporting students and families, helping to create a stronger and more connected community. We are so grateful for their partnership in making a difference.
York Elementary School - Mrs. Grant's Second Grade Class - Army National Guard Overseas
Second graders from Cyndee Grant's class, sent letters and hearts to Dawn Harris' son's battalion over seas. The battalion sent back this awesome picture. Harris' son is the one holding the battery flag.
Cascade Middle School - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. - Assembly
Students and staff at Cascade Middle School gathered for an assembly to celebrate the life and contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The event featured speeches and musical performances by the school's band and choir.
Pacific Middle School and Shahala Middle School - Vancouver Mall
Patrons at the Vancouver Mall enjoyed music performances featuring our talented musicians from Pacific Middle School and Shahala Middle School. Music programs and events like these are sponsored by levy funds.
Heritage High School - Union High School - Mountain View High School - Concert Season
Evergreen Public Schools Performing Arts - Reminder, performing arts are supported with levy dollars.
Mountain View High School - Annual Jolly Jamboree
The holiday tradition continues as Mountain View High School musicians performed for an audience of elementary students for their annual Jolly Jamboree. Performances included everything from classical pieces to contemporary takes on traditional songs.
Image Elementary School - Mountain View High School Floral Studies Program
Students in Mrs. Escola's third grade class had a wonderful time creating floral arrangements with students from Mountain View High School.
Mountain View High School - Future Farmers of America (FFA)
Students planted trees with Friends of Trees on Saturday, December 14, 2024. Over 100 trees were planted on that day around the Fisher's Landing area. Students learned how to properly plant trees and the benefits of trees in our area.
Illahee Elementary School - Field Trip To PetSmart - Union High School Buddies
First Graders in Mrs. Gorchel's class and high school buddies from Ms. Ridgway's child development class attended a field trip to our local PetSmart. Students observed the animals to learn about animal parts, survival and also learned why a pet store/groomer/veterinarian is an important part of our community. Many of our Ravens took their families back to visit PetSmart.
Home Choice Academy - Game Night
Home Choice Academy hosted a Game Night that coincided with their book fair. Students and families had a chance to play games, create some art and pick out some new books. School board member Gary Wilson was in attendance for the fun filled night.
Sunset Elementary School - First Graders - Columbia Springs
First grade went to Columbia Springs to explore the wild world of bugs. Great exploring Sharks.
Hollingsworth Academy - Cookies

Heritage High School - Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan ( M.E.Ch.A) Club
Heritage M.E.Ch.A club raised money with the goal in mind of giving to those who need it most. They went shopping to find needed supplies and some fun toys for families in need. The students found it fun and rewarding to serve others at this time of year.
RECOGNITION
National School Board Recognition Month
January is National School Board Recognition Month, and we want to salute our five directors: Jacqueline Weatherspoon, Ginny Gronwoldt, Julie Bocanegra and Gary Wilson. These directors were elected by voters, and keep our students' needs at the forefront of everything they do. Thank you, directors.
Legacy High School - Association Of Washington School Principals
Congratulations to Legacy High School for receiving a Culture Kickoff Award from Association of Washington School Principals. The award is in recognition of Legacy creating a welcoming, positive school culture through intentional planning and collaboration between students and staff. Highlighted activities include the growth of the ASB program and Legacy's focus on listening and acting on student voice.
Districtwide Attendance - York Elementary School - Burton Elementary School - Frontier Middle School - Heritage High School
District wide attendance in October and November improved over 6% over the same time last year. During the last school board meeting four schools were recognized for the great job they have done increasing attendance. York Elementary School - lead the way with a 13% increase, Burton Elementary School - had a 12% increase, Frontier Middle School - had a 9% increase, Heritage High School - had a 7% increase. Great job students and staff.
Pacific Middle School - Dance Team
Congratulations to Pacific Dance Team and Coach Amy. They took home first place for their "Wicked" themed costumes at Mountain View High School dance competition.
