Water Safety
For the last several years, Evergreen Public Schools has been doing an extensive water testing program at all schools. Evergreen follows both the state and federal requirements for lead levels in drinking water. Children six years old and younger are most susceptible to the effects of lead. Their growing bodies absorb more lead than adults, and their brains and nervous systems are more sensitive to the damaging effects of lead. Even at very low levels of exposure to lead, children may experience effects including lower IQ levels, reduced attention span, hyperactivity, poor classroom performance, or other harmful physical and behavioral effects. There are many sources of lead exposure, including drinking water. When lead exceeds recommended levels, the district shuts off the drinking water fixtures. Depending on the location of the fixture, the district will repair/replace it (except in schools designated to be replaced as part of the 2018 Capital facilities Bond), or if it is located in an area where there is little or no use, it will decommission it. Bottled water stations are put in place to ensure students and staff have clean drinking water sources.

Envision Evergreen
Thanks to the support of Evergreen voters, a $695 million bond measure was passed in February 2018. Combined with state matching funds and impact fees, more than $800 million of construction projects will be completed by 2024. Some of the oldest schools in the district are being rebuilt, while the remainder of the schools will have upgrades and improvements. Please click below for more information.
Building Rentals
The facilities at Evergreen Public Schools are available to the community and non-profit organizations. Activities should adhere to the interests of the district and should not interfere with educational programs. First priority is always given to the education of students. Building usage follows the school year calendar of Evergreen Public Schools. Summer rentals are minimal.
