COVID Guidelines 2022-2023

Updated 8/3/2022

Below are the current guidelines that will be followed for COVID positive tests and COVID exposures during the 2022-2023 school year. The guidelines are consistent with the Decision Trees published by Yolo County Public health for school exposures. There are also frequently asked questions available to help clarify any questions you may have regarding students who test positive for COVID-19.

Masking:

Masks are not required this year for any student or staff. However, all students and staff will be allowed to wear a mask in all activities related to school unless wearing a mask would pose a safety hazard (e.g., watersports).

Masks will be available at all campuses for students who would like to wear a mask, but do not have one.

Positive Staff/Students:

Positive students must isolate for 5 days, and until symptoms improve and no fever for 24 hours and a negative test on day 5 or later (Day zero is the onset of symptoms or the day of positive test). First day eligible for return is day 6. Students can retest on days 6-9 for return. Students can return to school on day 11 without a test.

**Returning students are strongly recommended to wear masks around others through day 10.

Exposure:

Students are considered exposed with they have shared an indoor space with a positive student for more than 15 minutes (within a 24-hour period, including home exposure).

Exposed students without symptoms:

Remain on campus. Test once 3-5 days after exposure. All students can participate in all aspects of school.

Exposed students with symptoms:

Excluded from campus. Tests for COVID immediately. If negative may return to campus after symptoms have improved and no fever for 24 hours.

Testing:

Antigen testing will be available at all campuses.
