The 2026 General Meeting of European Women in Mathematics (EWM) will take place at the Mathematics Institute of the University of Warwick 31/8 - 4/9 2026. Save the date!
EWM is the main professional society for women in mathematics across Europe. The meeting is open to mathematicians of all genders and career stages.
This is the 20th EWM General Meeting, and we will celebrate EWM's 40th anniversary.

On Tuesday afternoon, in parallel with the mini-symposia, there will be a series of discusion on advances and challenges facing women in mathematics, as we celebrate EWM's 40th anniversary.
We also plan some more organised mentoring and networking activities.
The excursion on Wednesday afternoon will be to Kenilworth Castle

We are able to pay for on-campus housing for some participants. To apply for housing support, fill in the application here. The deadline was 10 April 2026.

On campus accommodation is available for self-pay booking at the link here. This is open until 9 August. After that date, it may be possible to book separately through Warwick Conferences if there is availability. Those looking for hotel accommodation should look in Coventry or Kenilworth (not Warwick).
The conference will take place at the University of Warwick, which is in Coventry, UK. This is an hour from London by train, with easy access via Eurostar to more of Europe. We encourage participants to take the train where possible. Non-UK participants who are combining this conference with other UK travel will probably save by using railpasses (often the Eurostar ticket already pays for itself), split ticket sites (UK train fares do not obey the triangle inequality...), and discount rail cards. A useful site is the Man in Seat 61. The local organiser is also happy to give advice.
The closest airport is Birmingham (BHX). For the London airports take local travel time and cost into account when choosing flights. More information about transport to the university is here.
Note that the town of Warwick is 10 miles from the university, and it is not easy to get from Warwick train station to the university - Coventry is the usual option.
All talks will take place in the Zeeman Building (which is adjacent to, but not equal to, the Mathematical Sciences Building). Maps of the Warwick campus are available here.
There are more dinner options in the adjacent towns of Kenilworth or Leamington, or central Coventry. To get to Coventry rail station or central Coventry take the 12X bus. For Kenilworth or Leamington take the 11 bus (or the U1 for Leamington). All buses take contactless payments. Group day tickets are available from the driver for groups of up to 5 (cheaper per person than one single ticket) - see details here.
