Physical Education, other clothes & Swimming

Physical Education (and Swimming in Year 3) are part of the curriculum and the children are required to attend these sessions. 

For PE, we ask that you provide a bag which can be hung up on your child’s peg. There is insufficient space for big backpacks or satchels. Some PE activities will take place in their normal clothes. 

The school provides an apron for your child to use for art work. 

Remember to label everything please.

Key Stage 1 (Reception, Year1 &2) children should have a PE kit and the class teacher will contact the parents to inform them what equipment is required. 

Other items to bring in for Reception children:

• Wellies to keep at school with their name on the bottom soles

• Slippers with waterproof soles for indoor use. 

Key Stage 2 (Year 3 to 6) children should have in their PE bag:

• T-shirt

• Shorts or a track suit for the winter months

• Clean trainers/plimsolls

• Hairbands to tie long hair (m/f) 

The PE bags should go home for washing at the end of each half-term. At this time, please also make sure the clothes still fit, especially the plimsolls/shoes. Do not take the PE bag home during term time, as children without suitable PE clothing may be asked to sit PE out. 

Swimming lessons in Year 3 

The children will have 10x sessions of an hour per class, each class for one term. You will receive the dates for the swimming lessons at the beginning of term. 

When going swimming, please provide the children with: 

• Swimming trunks (not shorts) for boys and a bathing suit for girls (not a bikini)

• Swimming hat (mandatory)

• Swimming goggles (optional)

• Towel 

• Packed lunch (the children will not be able to eat in the canteen the day they swim)

We kindly ask for a voluntary contribution of £145 per pupil to cover the costs of the pool hire, swimming teacher and transport. 

Your contribution can be sent in full or in 3 instalments of £49, £48, £48 via MyChildAtSchool (MCAS):

4. Add to basket (you can add all instalments, if you wish to pay in full)

5. Go to the basket and check out.
