One helpful tip from Carol Dweck( 2017) involves shifting how we praise children. We are encouraged to praise a child for his/her efforts rather than on their achievement or natural talent/intellect. She also encourages parents/caregivers to embrace failure as an opportunity for growth and learning. Finally, she shares that we need to allow children to "struggle" rather than try to prevent them from experiencing struggle/frustration. Her insightful video is posted below along with some other helpful resources and visuals!
