ETHS provides life insurance for all benefit eligible employees through Dearborn Life Insurance/BCBS. Additional life insurance can be purchased at an additional cost.

Class 2: Secretaries, Teacher Aides, Special Staff, and Exempt
Class 3: Teachers, Engineers, Maintenance, Custodians & Food Service
Class 4: Retiree Administrators
Class 5: Safety Personnel
VOLUNTARY ADDITIONAL LIFE INSURANCE
During open enrollment, you have the opportunity to purchase additional life insurance, make changes to your current additional life insurance coverage, or terminate your additional life insurance coverage.
- If you are enrolling for the first time for coverage for you, your spouse, or your child, you will need to complete the enrollment form and an EOI (Evidence of Insurability) or medical questionnaire/exam.
- You can choose to decrease your coverage at this time.
- If you wish to increase coverage for yourself, you can do so by no more than $10,000 as long as your total coverage is at or below the guaranteed issue amount of $150,000. If you exceed the guaranteed issue amount, you will need to complete an EOI.
- You may increase your spouse's coverage by $5,000 as long as your total coverage is at or below the guaranteed issue amount of $25,000. If you exceed the guaranteed issue amount, your spouse will need to complete an EOI.
