B.E.A.T.S.
(Business, Engineering, Art, Technology, and Science Club)

The purpose of this club is to develop skills in a multitude of fields, ranging from cybersecurity to accounting. Students will select programs that interest them and join their peers in both learning more about the subject and applying their knowledge to relevant activities. FBLA was operating under Beats last year since our club has funding from Assets, and decided to branch out on their own once again. We differ from MESA because of the aspects of our accounting, cybersecurity, and business programs. We have been a club for longer than FBLA (we were under the same BITS before 2019).

Cognitive Science Club

The purpose of the Silver Creek Cognitive Science Club is for students interested in learning more about the Cognitive Science field. As a growing field, it incorporates neuroscience, computer science, psychology, linguistics, as well as other fields! This year we plan on hosting in seminars on the various topics this field includes, as well as bringing in guest speakers (ex. students, professionals) to further expand our knowledge in the various fields. We will be offering volunteer hours to our members as well for attending meetings and seminars.

D.E.C.A.
(Distributive Education Clubs of America)

Distributive Education Clubs of Americans known as DECA is an international organization that provides high school and college students with networking opportunities, social interactions, real life business scenarios and guest speakers from the business community. It is an association of marketing students that encourages the development of business and leadership skills through academic conferences and competitions. DECA members compete at conferences in different locations in the U.S. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools around the globe. These conferences provide a venue for DECA’s Competitive Events Program as well as additional career and leadership development programs. Each competition includes a written test over business and marketing information, as well as two role-playing, problem solving events. Students are judged on the basis of their ability to develop and communicate sound, creative, and through solutions to the problem situations. Throughout the first semester I will be preparing for the conferences since all conferences take place during the second semester. There are two conferences each member is eligible to participate in, SVCDC, ( Silicon CValley Career Development Conference), and SCDC State Career Development Conference. This year both these conferences will be in Santa CLara. The winners at SCDC will qualify for ICDC, International Career Development Conference, which will be held in Anaheim, CA this upcoming year.
