Responsibilities of AVT

The commission organizes sound system at athletic events, class events, club events, and other events as requested. They put together music mixes at lunch to raise school spirit, create pre-shows/trailers for spirit rallies – Non-Fire & F.A.N.T.A.S.T.I.C.S.. They must have a flexible schedule to regulate audio at after-school events and be able to work well with other commissioners to ensure productivity.

Skills Required/Desired

AVT commissioners must have experience using audio editing software (Audacity, Reaper, GarageBand etc.) and video editing software to cut footage for pre-shows. They will learn throughout the year how to set up and operate all the school’s sound system (in the gymnasium, at the football field, in I-2, at X-Quad). They are expected to improvise and quickly find solutions to unprecedented system malfunctions; proactively plan for future shortcomings.
