Who Is Esther Lewars?

Esther Lewars is a lifelong learner and teacher, who is passionate about educational technology, information literacy, data privacy, and maximizing available resources. Her most fitting job titles include Educational Technology Specialist, Instructional Designer, Adjunct Professor, etc.

Her alma mater includes Rutgers University, NJ Institute of Technology, Teachers College-Columbia University, and Seton Hall University.

She strategically leads organizations and community-based groups through the project planning and implementation process:

  • Led the exploratory revision of the New Jersey Students Learning Technology Standards to include Computer Science for all K12 students.
  • Managed and guided several Caribbean cultural committees through the City of Newark Flag Raising protocols.
  • Developed and implemented organization-wide technology integration plan.
  • Designed, developed, and facilitated school and district-wide professional development and training.
  • Coordinated standardized state assessments, including providing staff training, following security guidelines, and compliance practices.
  • Implemented school-home public relations measures through print, digital marketing, and social media.

Greatest Professional Development Experience: Attending and presenting at the 2018 Google Faculty Institute in Sunnyvale, California.

Greatest Joy: Being a proud mother of two amazing school-aged children.
