Curriculum & pacing
This page is designed to help our team understand what we teach and the curriculum and pacing resources used to do it. We are committed to ensuring and implementing a viable curriculum in our ECPS classrooms each day.
What We Teach
In the state of Virginia, all teachers follow the learning outcomes as defined by the Virginia Standards of Learning.
Our team is expected to reference the appropriate Standards of Learning and dive deep into Curriculum Frameworks, Test Blueprints, and additional instructional resources provided by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) to guide our students in what they should know and be able to do.
CURRICULUM & PACING
In order to be successful and ensure all content is aligned consistently to the cognitive demand that the Virginia Standards of Learning require, each teacher is expected to follow the designated pacing guide for the content.
Our pacing and curriculum come from the Comprehensive Instructional Program (CIP). Our weekly pacing guides are derived from the CIP pacing overview.
