February's Mindful Make:
Each monthly workshop will focus on the 7 C's of resilience and teaching artists how to practice self-care and self-love through creating their own art.
In February, artists will reflect on all of the roles they have and what makes them good at those things. They will create artwork that celebrates and shares what they love about themselves. In fact, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics, the way children perceive themselves plays a critical role in their motivation and achievements in school, their personal relationships, and their resilience. Plus, research has shown that folks who practice self-love can significantly improve their stress and anxiety levels and it helps to thwart self-criticism, too.
Artists are able to attend one session or attend them all! They do not have to regularly attend to be able to participate. Each session will conclude with a finished personal artwork.
This Mindful Makers session will be taught by Kathleen Ehrlich, a NYS certified art teacher in ESM’s school district. With experience of 17+ years, she has designed these classes with a focus on mindfulness to ensure positive experiences with making, creating, and healing.
*Enrollment Is limited to 10 seats per session. If you are interested in a sold out session, please reach out. If there Is enough interest, we are able to accommodate another session in the morning.*
