December's Mindful Make:
Each monthly workshop will focus on the 7 C's of resilience and teaching artists how to practice self-care and self-love through creating their own art.
In December, artists will experience creating art for the purpose of action and advocacy. They will experience how their art can make a difference by creating and sharing and artwork that supports a cause that Is Important to them. We will share completed work online and encourage viewers to donate to the cause in the artist's name. Artists will be able to experience gratitude and joy by making a positive contribution to others, which can help youths thrive emotionally by feeling important and appreciated.
"Youth surrounded by gratitude thrive. When young people work to improve their communities they develop a meaningful sense of purpose. they receive positive protective messages"
Artists are able to attend one session or attend them all! They do not have to regularly attend to be able to participate. Each session will conclude with a finished personal artwork.
This Mindful Makers session will be taught by Kathleen Ehrlich, a NYS certified art teacher in ESM’s school district. With experience of 17+ years, she has designed these classes with a focus on mindfulness to ensure positive experiences with making, creating, and healing.
*Enrollment Is limited to 10 seats per session. If you are interested in a sold out session, please reach out. If there Is enough interest, we are able to accommodate another session in the morning.*
