ESC 17 STEM

Inspiring instructors, students, and the community to make a difference in the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics!

In 2018, the Executive Office of the President of the United States published a report, Charting a Course for Sucesss: America's Strategy for STEM Education. The 1st priority of the executive plan is to develop and enrich strategic partnerships in fostering STEM Ecosystems that unite communities, increase work-based learning and training through educator-employer partnerships, and blend successful practices from across the learning landscape.

This site was developed to help inform educators, our business partners, and the public about current STEM opportunities right here in Lubbock and the surrounding Region 17 communities as well as opportunities on a state and federal level.

What is STEM?

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education is a method of hands-on teaching and learning where students learn to apply academic content by creatively solving real-world problems with innovative design-based thinking to prepare students for future career opportunities.
