Goose Chase

Overview

GooseChase is a mobile device-driven scavenger hunt application that is mostly used as a team-building tool. Participants complete picture/video missions and short responses. Excellent tool to use for professional development.  Use your Google email address to create a teacher account. Account creation is not needed for students and participants of the scavenger hunt. Games may be played with closed user groups and/or the Internet community more generally through the Website and/or GooseChase App.

• Parent permission required for use with students under 13 if accounts are created.

• If you connect your GooseChase account to a third-party application (such as a social media platform), GooseChase may automatically share your activity with that service, including your User Content submissions in Games.

GooseChase's policy states that it does not control or actively monitor user content and, therefore, does not guarantee the accuracy, integrity, suitability or quality of user content. The policy also does not mention if personal information is shared publicly. The policy for GooseChase does not clearly indicate if a user's personal information is sold or rented. The policy does not state if data in transit or at rest is encrypted. Also, the vendor does not state in the policy that in the event of a data breach they would notify users. Lastly, the policy for GooseChase does not clearly state if there is a process for the school, parent, or student to delete a student's personal information if an account is created.
