The events listed below are some of the events the Region One ESC and the Office of College, Career, and Life Readiness host for our educators, parents, and students. We are currently accepting presentation proposals for financial literacy education topics. Select the button above to sign up for the events or email FinanceLit@esc1.net for more information.
Region One ESC provides opportunities for families, students, and communities to learn about various financial literacy subjects. The events are intended to provide our community's participants with relevant, useful information. Each breakout session lasts 45 minutes.
Student Event: 11th grade Students

Time: 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
GEAR UP participants will learn money management strategies. Different types of savings options, what financial services are available to them in college, and financial planning stratgeis for their future.

Join hundred of students from across the region to discover your unique potential to create a bright future after high school. Meet with employers, universities, partners, and vendors, to explore opportunities of post-secondary success!

The I AM Conference was established in 2016 to cultivate a culture of empowerment within our community that encourages and supports young women to explore careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and fields that may traditionally be dominated by males. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on experiences and network with influential female leaders through interactive break out sessions. Our mission is to ensure all participants leave recognizing that they are “Intelligent, Capable, and Strong.”

The I AM Conference is designed for young women to recognize their potential as they explore college and career opportunities in STEM fields, including health professions, and develop connections with established female leaders in the community, institutions of higher education and local non-profit organizations.

The Financial Literacy Summit is a GEARUP event that provides students with an array of interactive breakout sessions focused on various financial literacy topics, including personal financial literacy, and financial aid.
*The winners from the FLIC event will be announced during this event. The FLIC (Financial Literacy Innovations Cadre) event was an online competition based self-paced course that the students had to create their own career, budget, and submit presentations for awards. We are still accepting awards for the FLIC event
Family Event
Location: Mission Event Center 2425 Ruby Red Blvd, Mission, TX 78572 (limit 6 FL presenters)
Time: 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
GEAR UP participants will attend a series of sessions on topics ranging from college,
career, and life readiness to social emotional learning. Sessions will be available in English and Spanish.
