With a passion for books, an unwavering commitment to education, and a steadfast dedication to library advocacy, Allie Cornejo has worked to carve a path in the world of librarianship.

A lifelong resident of the Rio Grande Valley, proud graduate of Sam Houston State University and having served as a librarian for several years at Harlingen School of Health Professions, Allie Cornejo shares experiences and expertise with the library community. Her journey in education spans 15 years, and reflects an enduring dedication to fostering learning and promoting literacy.

In an effort to advocate and continue her professional education, Allie volunteers with the Texas Library Association (TLA) and the Texas Association of School Librarians (TASL). She has served as Chair of TLA's Public Relations and Marketing Committee and TASL's Legislative and Advocacy Committee. In addition, she has served as a member of the Young Adult Reading Table's Maverick Committee and currently serves as a member of the TASL Social Media Committee. In 2020, Allie received the TASL Media Virtual Presence Award for excellence in virtual presence through several different avenues, including school library websites, blogs, and social media. Through these organizations, she works to advance the cause of libraries, advocating for the vital role they play in shaping informed, empowered, and engaged communities.

Allie Cornejo considers her dedication to 21st Century Learning, advocacy, and literacy a calling. Her journey in the world of libraries continues to inspire her and she hopes to be part of the movement to uplift and encourage those in her professional learning network. Beyond her professional life, Allie is a proud mother of two and a devoted wife. When she's not running her library program or volunteering with TLA and TASL, you'll likely find her reading late into the night with her book light and Dalmatian, Bixby.
