Internet Options for Families Without

No Internet at Home?

Capital Area Community Services, Inc. has received a technology grant to provide either a tablet (with cover) or a hotspot to eligible low-income residents of Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, and Shiawassee counties.

Each type of device comes with pre-paid mobile broadband service through 12/31/2021. Eligibility requirements include identifying the negative impact on the individual/household caused by COVID-19. Seniors (60+) and other vulnerable populations will be given priority for consideration. Click for more information:

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Must be below 200% of the 2021 Federal Poverty Guidelines:

Persons in Household / 200% Poverty Guidelines

  • 1/ $25,760

  • 2/ $34,840

  • 3 /$43,920

  • 4/ $53,000

  • 5/ $62,080

  • 6 /$71,160


The individual/household has been specifically and negatively impacted by COVID-19 due to:

  • A financial reduction or loss of employment -and/or-

  • An increase in daily living expenses -and/or-

  • Access to technology insufficient for essential employment, education, daily living, and/or health related needs -and/or-

  • Any other verifiable negative impact


*Must provide up-to-date, local photo identification


*Must be willing to participate in a follow-up Self-Sufficiency Plan/Agreement
