Returning to the second half of this school year the expectation remains that there is likely to be disruption to regular learning environments. Teacher shortages, student absences and potential, temporary class closures seem likely to continue for the time being. 

In this session we explore a few of the ways that Promethean can be used to support these mixed learning situations.

Some of these ways include: 

• Incorporating online conferencing tools like MS Teams and Google Meet 

• Sharing student content remotely or socially distanced in the classroom with Screen Share 

• Receiving answers from all learners no matter where they have joined using Classflow Polling 

• Recording lessons and instructions using the Screen and Sound Recorders in ActivInspire

In this session we will look at how to create Activities using the builder, save to your flipchart page to use as part of a lesson or deliver as stand-alone activities at the panel to reinforce or consolidate learning. 

Your Promethean ActivPanel comes with pre-installed Classroom Essential apps. One of which is the Spinner App!  This app enables you to create and use random generators which can be applied to a multitude of learning situations in the classroom.  

In this final webinar of the school year, we are going take a closer look at the spinner; how to access/open/edit/customise, and then explore some of the different, creative ways that it can be used to keep your learners engaged and motivated until the end of the year. 

Promethean offer online certificated courses aimed at supporting teachers to better recognise the potential of our hardware and software by supporting teachers to develop further skills for use. In this session, we will have a look at how to get started using the site, what courses are available and how to work your way through them. 

Promethean ActivPanels have been around for several years now so come in different versions. In this session, we will have a look at the different versions and provide some advice for knowing what version you are using. We will also cover what each version offers outside of connecting your computer to it. 

ActivInspire comes with a built-in screen recorder. This tool can be used for recording both inside and outside of the flipchart environment. It can be used for recording whole lessons or parts of lessons to share with learners both in and out of the classroom.

The ClassFlow Connect button in ActivInspire enables students to connect their individual learning devices to the teacher’s lesson for questioning and assessment purposes. In this session we will look at how to get started with ClassFlow Connect in ActivInspire and the different ways it can be used to ask questions, gather feedback, and provide evidence of learning.

Over the past 12 months we have had several new releases of our ActivInspire bringing us to our latest release, V2.19, in June this year. In this session we will have a look at some of the new features available and how they can be incorporated into your flipchart lessons.  

ActivInspire has always had, what I like to call, Teacher Friendly Licensing. On this call we will explore what the means for school, you and even (potentially) the pupils in your class. 

There are several apps that come preinstalled on your ActivPanel Elements or that are available when you update your OPSG the latest version. In this session we have a look at the different apps that are available and what they can offer in the classroom.

A little extra though in the design of your flipchart pages means that it can be used for a variety of purposes. In this session we will have a look at creating and saving templates and flipchart page design so that it can work both in the classroom and for independent or group work for your pupils.  

With many teachers and students working and learning at home we thought it would be worth revisiting how ActivInspire can be used for online learning experiences. 

In this session, we will once again have a look at the built-in Sound and Screen Recorders. Covering how they can be used for capturing lesson content both within ActivInspire itself but also with other applications. 

We will then offer some advice on how to share these video files with your students. We will talk a bit about cloud storage options and other tools like Thinglink, SWAY and more.

There are so many great ways that ActivInspire can be used for learning experiences in the classroom. The software has some hidden gems that once you know they are there are easy to use and can help to increase the interactivity (and even a little magic) in your lessons. 

ActivInspire can be used to create great interactive lessons for learners of any age but especially in the Early Years classroom! 

In this session, we will have a look at the basics of getting started with the software, where you can go for further training and explore some easy to create ActivInspire lessons for younger learners. 

The need for mixed delivery of lessons has become a reality during this pandemic to ensure that learners, no matter where they are located, are supported. 

In this session, we will explore how easy it is to use your ActivPanel as part of a lesson when not all your students are sitting in the room with you. 

Jonathan Hull has become well learned in how to offer basic technical support for ActivPanels to teachers in East Renfrewshire. 

In this session, he is going to cover some of the most frequently asked questions that he has received and share some sound troubleshooting tips that any teacher can try themselves before reporting it further.

In this session we will be exploring how the ActivPanel can be used without a connected computer. 

Focus is on the preinstalled Promethean Essential apps and how they can be used in the Early Years setting. These apps include: 

Spinner / Timer / Instant Whiteboard / Capture / Screen Share 

We will also have a look at how websites and third-party apps can be accessed and used. 

Our session about the Promethean Essential Apps before Christmas was more of an overview of each meaning we just scratched the surface of how they can be used in the classroom. 

In this session, we want to delve a bit deeper and take a closer look at the pedagogical application of the apps. How they can be used together, and with other resources, to support and even enhance learning experiences in the classroom.
