September 18, 2023-- Our Alumni Shine Bright

Equitas Academy Charter Schools held the 8th Grade High School Fair on Saturday, September 16th, 2023 at Equitas #5 and #6. We had 22 high school partners and over 70 8th Graders and their families RSVP. 

Our Alumni who volunteered left nothing more than an everlasting impression on everyone. We had 16 alumni volunteers who took care of set up, check-in, and gallery guides. Some volunteers were able to provide translation services for our high school partners while others represented their respective high schools and provided insight in regard to their high school journey.

Yesemely Mendoza - Class of 2028

Adamaris Castaneda - Class of 2029

Emerlyn Cac, Class of 2030, Betsy Merino, Class of 2028, and Vanessa Merino, Class of 2031, were able to check in scholars and their families upon arrival. 

Featured on the left, Yesemely Mendoza, Class of 2028 currently attends Sacred Heart High School, volunteered her time to talk to students about all the resources Sacred Heart has to offer. Featured in the first photo row below, Adamaris Castaneda, Class of 2029, who currently attends South L.A. College Prep. She represented South L.A. College Prep and shared her story with scholars and families. 

Our Alumni, Roberto Quinones and Enrique Bautista, from the Class of 2029, who currently attend Alliance Ted K. Tajima, were able to help our New Roads School representative translate information into Spanish so that our families connect better. They are featured on the left-side photo panel as well. 

One of our college-aged alumni, Ethan Flores, Class of 2025, provided amazing gallery walks and talked about his experience at Equitas and his current experience attending Concordia University Irvine. Ethan is currently a college junior studying psychology and is navigating his journey to attend law school and become a lawyer. 

Astro Ovalle and Erick Rosales, Class of 2029, currently attends Alliance Dr. Olga Mohan High School. Astro was able to offer a warm and welcoming greeting to our high school partners as they set up their booths ready to help our 8th Grade families. Erick was also able to take photos and guide families through the gallery.

Our Alumni really made this event successful and we are so proud and grateful to have done this with their partnership and support.
