FINANCIAL AID
Students will be able to explain the college financial aid process and the different types of aid available, including grants, loans, work-study, and scholarships.
STRESS MANAGEMENT
Students will be able to identify the factors that cause stress, its impacts on the body and self, and develop ways to cope and manage stressful situations.
IDENTITY
Students will gain a better understanding of identity by examining their own and the internal/external factors that shape and influence it, such as social media, peer pressure, and assumptions. They will also dismantle these labels and reaffirm or redefine their own identities.
PRIVATE AND OUT-OF-STATE COLLEGES
Students will be able to explain the advantages and disadvantages of applying to private, in-state, and out of state colleges. They will also have the opportunity to explore different colleges on their own using BigFuture on CollegeBoard’s website.
TRANSITION TO COLLEGE
Students will be able identify key components that they need to consider in preparation for the transition to college. They will also examine basic financial budgeting, transitioning to new residential living situations, and the various resources that different colleges have to offer to support their students during this transition.
