September 21, 2018

  • All Tardy and Early Dismissal students must check their Chromebooks in and out of the library..
  • Yearbook- Are you artistic? Do you love drawing or designing? If so, the yearbook needs you! The yearbook will once again have a student designed cover. Any student may enter a design in the contest. The RMS staff will vote on the winning cover. The winning artist will win a free yearbook. Designs are due to Ms. Kenahan in room 225 by Monday, October 22,2018. Contest requirements are in Google classroom.
  • The first yearbook club meeting will be held this Monday September 24 in room 224. If you are unable to attend please see Ms. Kenahan or Ms. Chamberland
  • 8th graders- Are you interested in joining Knitting club? There will be an informational meeting after school Thursday 9/27 in room 119. Come learn about the club and decide if its right for you. 6th and 7th graders will be asked to join in a few weeks.
  • The cross country team finished in 2nd place in yesterday's meet against Bay View and Portsmouth Middle School.In the boy's race, 6th grader, Lucas Santa-Cruz finished 2nd overall out of 52 runners. Also placing in the top 20 for the boys were Ryan Stover, Kyler Lorenz, Colin Leddy and Luke McCoy.In the girl's race of 56 runners, RMS was led by Emma Nordquist, who finished 4th overall. 6th grader, Katie Patalano, finished 6th overall, followed by Makena Petsch in 9th, Sydney Amaral in 14tth, and Lana Melmed in 15th place. All runners worked hard and did a great job for their first race. The cross country team will race again next Tuesday in Newport.
  • The girl' soccer team has improved their record to 1 win 0 losses and 1 tie. Hailee Manteiga and Estrella D'Ambra both scored a goal. The girl's will announce their next game soon

  • RMS girls soccer team tied yesterday's game vs Bayview 2-2 . Hailee Manteiga scored both goals. Both keepers Brookelyn Feola and Kloey Iacavone made many impressive saves throughout the game. The strong defensive line was held by Eva LaRoche. Today"s game is Home against Jamestown at 3:30

  • Here is the schedule for TODAY'S Meet the Teachers Night 2018. Each period will meet for 10 minutes with 2 minutes between each class. We will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Parents should bring a copy of their child's schedule. Students will be making a copy of their schedule in Google Docs in the morning on Thursday and they can share the schedules with their parents electronically. Parents are encouraged to use a mobile phone and pull up the Doc or the Skyward Mobile app. One parent suggested taking a photo of their child's schedule with their phone!

UPDATE 1:20 pm - Girl's soccer and cross country practices for today have been CANCELLED.

  • RMS 2018 Chamber Chorus will meet after school TODAY with Mr. Baldaia at 2:30. All students that signed up should attend

  • Thank you to the entire RMS School Community for helping us get through some difficult, hot days. Everyone pulled together and made the best of some nasty weather! As it looks that the hot weather may return, students are reminded to bring a water bottle to school.

  • Girls Soccer try-outs will be held after school on Tuesday. Any girl wishing to try out should make sure to bring soccer gear to school. The try outs are at the field in front of the school and start at 2:30pm. All athletes must have an up to date physical (not older than a year), an assumption of risk form notarized (only for new athletes), and register on Family ID. Students must complete these requirements in order to participate in try-outs.
  • Coach Souza will be here today to speak about Soccer Tryouts for boys. An announcement will be made at the end of the day.
  • Next week will be our first RMS Raffle of the year. Teachers will nominate students for displaying responsibility, mindfulness, and scholarship!
