CLUBS & TEAMS
Make the world a better place, celebrate diversity, express your creativity, or explore an interest just because it’s fun. If sport is your passion, try out for one of our many successful athletic teams and be mentored by one of our passionate coaches, many of whom have played and worked at an elite level. The expertise and mentorship opportunities here will give you a chance to work in teams and grow your skills which could earn you a scholarship.

HEALTH & WELLNESS
Healthy bodies help build better minds! Enjoy learning about healthy choices at our health fairs and through tips and tricks posted around the school. Challenge yourself in our top notch fitness centre with support from our onsite fitness and wellness manager, and enjoy healthy options in our renovated Milton’s and The Canoe (food services).

STUDENT LEADERSHIP
There are unlimited ways to get involved! Learn how to lead, coordinate, and implement fun and meaningful activities to build school spirit and serve societal needs through community support initiatives. As a UNESCO (United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization) and International Baccalaureate (IB) school our students are taught to think globally and act locally as they seek to make a difference in the world. Students can take leadership and Creativity, Action, Service (CAS) coursework as part of their timetable; in the mornings, at noon, after school or by volunteering for events. We meet every student’s level of commitment and help foster potentially life-changing experiences through this program!

Our students and staff look forward to our Taste of LaZerte celebration when we invite parents and our community to enjoy different cultural foods, dances, and activities.

EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING
An overwhelming number of our teachers have been recognized by our province with Excellence in Teaching Awards and teacher recognition. Also, feedback from our students and parents consistently reflects that our staff is helpful, teach to a high standard, and share feedback about student learning in an easy-to-understand manner on a regular basis. We also have a significantly higher number of students who graduate in three years with us than most other schools in Edmonton!

SPECIALIZED PROGRAMS & OPTIONS
We offer a wide array of specialized programs taught by internationally trained teachers in our long-running and successful International Baccalaureate and Mandarin programs. In addition, LaZerte has a large selection of courses within programs including:

INDIVIDUALIZED SUPPORTS
Every student learns differently. Students access MEL Time for individual and group help in any subject. Our Success Centre is for students who miss assessments or need extra time. We offer Support Classes with embedded success strategies for students needing help in core courses.
