What to expect from the Soccer Physical Education program
Physical Education 10 ( Girls/Boys) Physical Education 20, 30 (Co-Ed)
(5 credits each)
The main focus of Physical Education is to teach students to lead active healthy lifestyles through a variety of activities. Students will learn curricular outcomes through a variety of activities including volleyball, basketball, soccer, football, etc.
PE 10 is a graduation requirement for all students.
Soccer Physical Education 10, 20, 30
(5 credits each)
Students will receive soccer instruction that covers the curriculum outcomes and credit completion of PE 10, 20, 30. Student training includes a focus on tactical and technical activities. Focus will be on individual soccer skills and advance knowledge of working in a team environment.
A transportation and soccer centre fee will be applied.
Healthy Living Physical Education 10, 20, 30 (Females)
(5 credits each)
Healthy Living is a Physical Education course that is offered to females only and is based out of the fitness center. Students will actively participate in high intensity interval training, tabata, yoga, circuit training, dance, swim, and a variety of sports. This course empowers young women to understand physical literacy!
Fitness 10
(5 credits each)
This program has been designed for students that want to:
Train with peers in a motivating environment
Gain foundational knowledge of fitness equipment
Develop an understanding of proper form and movement techniques
Lead a healthy lifestyle by combining multiple dimensions of wellness
Increase knowledge of individual workout and nutrition plan building
Learn proper fitness centre etiquette to walk into any gym with confidence
Improve general physical preparedness during the off-season for any sport
Maintain and improve in-season physical performance for any sport
There truly is something for everyone! In the entry level Fitness 10 class, students will be guided through the basic components of fitness to prepare them for success in the remainder of the program. This program pairs training and kinesthetic learning experiences with theory mixed throughout. The design of these courses will ensure students leave the program with a broad knowledge base and the skills to lead a self-motivated, healthy and active lifestyle.
