What to expect from the Art program

Art 10, 20, 30

(5 credits each)

Art 10 is an introductory course in the visual arts for all students regardless of their ability levels. Art courses allow students to experiment with a variety of techniques and materials within teacher-directed projects. Students will work to develop strong technical skills in drawing, painting, and 3D media.

Drawing 15, 25, 35 Advanced

Techniques

(5 credits each)

Recommendation: Co-registration in Art 10.

These unique courses focus on the development of strong drawing skills. Students will use a variety of methods and materials to develop self-confidence, creative thinking and technical skills. Students will learn to draw highly realistic objects and portraits and do figure studies. They will begin to develop a portfolio of excellent work that can be used for entry to post-secondary art programs. Students of all skill levels are welcome.
