Art

In elementary art, students are learning the Elements of Art and Principles of Design to create realistic, imaginative, abstract, and non-objective art. They explore how to use art media(and its tools) appropriately. Students are challenged to think critically to solve problems with multiple results while connecting with general education subjects, the 21st century skills, and develop global/cultural awareness. They will apply this creative and critical thinking to artistic expression while learning about past and present artists have shaped art as we know it today! My goal is to help my students understand the visual arts are something to be either appreciated or be involved in. Whether it's an outlet, entertainment, a hobby, or profession to you, it's a beautiful thing!

Mandarin

Music

In music class, students will sing, play instruments, compose music, move to music and make connections between music and other academic areas such as language, science, math and more. Students will celebrate cultural differences and discover similarities in music from around the world. During classroom projects, they will practice 21st century skills including collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. Students will demonstrate these developing skills during after school grade-level programs.

PE

STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math)

In addition to deepening our understanding of grade level academic concepts, we will be learning about making, coding, robotics, 3D printing, electronics, music production, artistic expression and so much more. We will focus on teaching soft skills such as communication and collaboration which are so critical to developing healthy citizens.
