VIRTUAL CHOIRS ARE RELEASED!

SO exciting! The MIOSM EHS and TEC-MS Virtual Choir is released, as well as the FACE-Vocal Band collaboration that 4 of our EHS Choir Members were a part of (see story & info below here)!

We were 3 days from our DISTRICT CONCERT, when COVID-19 shut down our schools & events. We had a a creative and unique theme to our District MIOSM Concert this year: "Elements and Sounds of Nature and Our World", where every song from every choir related back to the sounds of our world - whether representing a culture, the human experience and expression, creativity, nature, unique sounds that we experience in our lives, or even that of fire, water, wind, and rain! We will have our "AUDIO CHOIR" songs ready to present soon as well (songs that the individual high school and middle schools choirs had prepared), but the VIRTUAL CHOIR represents our "big piece" where all 200+ voices, from elementary, middle and high school levels, would have come together in song (and would have made it "rain on stage" too!). While we were not able to do this live, and while we have just a small representation here, it is no small task to create a virtual choir - and is our way to come together...even when we are apart! :)

Enjoy! Feel free to share it with your family and friends! Thank you SO much to those who turned in their videos - what a tremendous way to represent not only Choir, but the power, creativity, and joy of music. A true gift at any time, but especially during THIS time.

A HUGE shout out to Ms. Karla Shotts (EHS Teacher and Media expert), and her son Dillion, and daughter Kelsy (ETC alumni), for producing and compiling all of this!!!

Our AUDIO CHOIR songs will be released in the next 1-2 days as well, bringing us a "taste" of what our concert would have been (well, kind-of, but at least it's everything we could have done at this point!)!

FACE VOCAL BAND VIRTUAL CHOIR -

& EHS CHOIR MEMBERS

ARE A PART OF IT!

FACE Vocal Band, a local professional Vocal rock group - becoming more and more well-known world-wide, opened up an opportunity for high school (and adult) singers to join them in a song - VIRTUALLY! Some of our singers took advantage of this opportunity, and the results are in!

It was very exciting to have some of OUR kids in this - and in case you missed it, here is the story on Channel 7 NEWS, as well as the YOUTUBE video release itself (or if you got lost in the live Stream last night, which had a lot of other items in it):

EHS Auditorium:

A collaboration of all Englewood Schools and their student Choirs! To celebrate Music In Our Schools Month (MIOSM):

Greetings, Choir Students, Parents & Families -

As you may have deducted by now, we will not be having our MIOSM rehearsal and Concert next Monday & Tuesday 3/16 & 3/17, as schools across the state & nation are closing. While it will be a challenge to reschedule this upon our return (so please be looking for updates), and may even become impossible due to many items needing to be rescheduled, we will still revisit the opportunity for our rehearsal & concert after April 6, or some form of an opportunity.

Students should continue to review their MIOSM Music & practice tracks/samples in light of this.

EHS Choir members will still look to participate in the CHSAA Solo & Ensemble Contest on Saturday, April 18, pending further information from our school and state leaders on next steps during these unprecedented times.

NEW CONTEST UPDATE (as of 3/17/20): CHSAA has cancelled all music contests to the end of the school year, so EHS Choirs will NOT be attending Solo & Ensemble Contest on 4/18/20.

To all, I wish you peace, health, and safety, and may music perhaps be one avenue to experience this over these next days.

EHS CHOIRS HOSTS ROCKY MOUNTAIN INVITATIONAL CHORAL FESTIVAL (RMICF)

Englewood High School Choirs is honored to host this year's annual Rocky Mountain Invitational Choral Festival (RMICF): a multi-school collaboration of high musical and educational value, and providing a sense of the "large school/district" festival opportunity for small-medium high schools.

The event will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

For well over 30+ years, this event has been at schools all around the greater Metro area and beyond; for the last 2 years, we co-hosted at Ralston Valley HS, but this year, we will be hosting in our building. We will have a Guest Conductor, our own EHS Accompanist, and 5 attending High Schools.

All students and staff are welcome to attend the multi-school Festival Performance at 3:15pm that day.

EHS CHOIRS HOSTS COLORADO ALL- STATE CHOIR AUDITIONS

Englewood High School Choirs is honored to host this year's Colorado All-State Choir Auditions for the Denver Metro region. Over 850 Junior and Senior students representing many schools from all over the Metro area (and beyond) will be coming to EHS, where they will individually audition before state judges to try and earn a placement in this year's Colorado All State Choir! As such, EHS Choir students will be running all aspects of the 3-day event from October 17-19. In addition, we are grateful to Choir parent and alumni volunteers, Beginning Piano class students, and other student volunteers who will help EHS Choirs run the All-State Metro auditions (and earn community service!). Not only are our students helping to monitor and serve a large portion of our high school Choral Arts community, a few of our own will be auditioning as well! Hard work is underway in preparing for such an large-capacity event, and we are proud of our Englewood High School Singers!
