Our team consists of Robert, Brandon, Jackson, and Sean (Right to Left). We are a part of COSMOS UCSD Cluster 2: Engineering Design and Control of Kinetic Sculptures. COSMOS is a summer program for high school students who have STEM-oriented interests. In this cluster, we worked together to design, build, control, and kinetic sculptures within the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. This webpage serves as a record for all of our projects throughout the program.
Robert - Hi! I'm a high school student in the class of 2024 from San Jose. I enjoy studying physics and math and I have experience designing and manufacturing various gadgets. I picked Cluster 2 as my first choice in order to explore the field of mechanical engineering. Other than academics, some of my hobbies include playing basketball, backpacking, playing the piano, and creating art.
Brandon - Team Programmer :) High School Class of 2023 from the Bay Area. I have experience in Combat Robotics, Science Olympiad, 3D printing, and CAD. Cluster 2 interested me since I am interested in majoring in mechanical engineering in college.
Jackson - I'm a high school student in the class of 2023 from the San Diego area. I have experience designing and manufacturing robots for FIRST robotics competitions as part of my school's robotics club, and I have experience with using tools such as lathes, mills, and welders through taking classes in the metal shop at my school. I chose cluster 2 due to my interest in engineering and coding.
Sean - I'm a high school student in the class of 2023 from San Diego. I compete in the FIRST robotics competition with my school where I learned a lot about about the engineering process. I joined cluster 2 because I plan to major in mechanical engineering in college. COSMOS was a great opportunity to learn about both engineering and college residential life.
