ESL (English as a Second Language) education is one of the most up and coming specialty services in modern education. According to the United States Department of Education, ELL (English Language Learners) students made up 25% of all students in the United States during the 2014-2015 academic year, and that percentage is only increasing (Department of Education, 2017). With such high numbers of ELL students entering classrooms across America, it is imperative that educators and administrators are as aware of the needs of these students as they can be. In this study, I will speak to various educators about their experiences working with ESL students; discussing teaching strategies, challenges they have run into, and their hopes for the future of ESL education.
Here is me reading the Epilogue portion of my Thesis paper!
"I am forever grateful for my ESL teachers for helping me and guiding me through it. I would not be where I am if it were not for them"- Former ESL student
"Through writing my Thesis, I have just become more passionate about creating the best quality education for all of my students because they truly are who inspire me every day".
"In essence, the English Language Learning programs in the United States have become a crucial part of what holds the American Education system together. With such a high, and only increasing, population of English Language Learners in American schools, having successful and effective programs for ELL students has become a necessity."
