The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of student teacher relationships on a child's wellbeing, growth, and development. This study also looks at the effects that art may have on the relationships between students and their teachers. Research suggests that students with strong positive relationships with their teachers tend to be more attentive, motivated, and social, than students with negative, or no relationship with their teachers (Hagenauer, G., Hascher, T. & Volet, S.E, 2015). There are numerous factors that can affect these relationships, including child behavior, both student and teacher stress, teacher emotions, and much more. Teachers are the most important factor in a students success and wellbeing inside, and often outside, of the classroom. Students gain academic and social skills through these relationships, that they will use for the rest of their lives (Jennings, 2014).
