Rodale Emken started a small bookkeeping out of his home in 1968. He worked hard to establish a caring, customer centered business that everyone in the Holdrege area could be proud of.

Emken was later purchased by Marlene Johnson and her business partners. Marlene continued the legacy set forth by Rodale until her passing. As the community of Holdrege grew, so did Emken.

After working in the tax industry for 10 years, Ann Mercer branched off on her own. Ann bought the business in 2015 and has since added a new office in Lexington to better serve clients.

Three generations work within Emken. Ann's mother, Tami, oversees the majority of the bookkeeping needs. Three out of four of Ann's children help her with various tasks. Kylee, Ann's oldest, is the newest addition and will be doing taxes. Jessa and Mickala, Ann's two youngest, are the welcoming committee that greats our clients.
