When is the event, and what time should I be there?

The main event starts at 5:30 pm. Feel free to arrive earlier for a brief check-in, and to socialize with other guests!

Where is the McKenny Hall ballroom, anyway? And where should I park? (updated map below)

McKenny Hall is located in the southwest corner of EMU's main campus, near the corner of Cross Street/Washtenaw Avenue and Oakwood Street and diagonal from the Ypsilanti Water Tower; on the campus map (see bottom of page or this link), it can be found labeled as "McK" in grid D2 in the upper left corner of the map. There is a limited amount of metered street parking in the neighborhood around McKenny. Paid public parking for events in McKenny is available in Lot G at the corner of Washtenaw and Oakwood. To access Lot G, after turning onto Oakwood Street from Washtenaw Avenue/Cross Street, take the first right, which is labeled "McKenny Drive." Once on McKenny Drive, proceed a few feet to the first driveway on the right. Please utilize the drive to enter the McKenny Paid lot. McKenny Hall will be visible to the left as you enter the parking lot. Please enter McKenny Hall via the west or south entrances. NOTE: We have a new parking vendor, and they appear to be aggressively patrolling the permit-only lots. Be sure to park in the paid public parking lot if you do not have the proper EMU permit! (See maps below for details.)

The McKenny ballroom is on the third floor. Make your way to the staircase or elevator in the center of the building and go up one flight. The ballroom entrance will be apparent from the staircase landing. Please check in at the table to receive your free drink sample tickets.

Free drink sample tickets? Tell me more!

A number of beers were brewed using historical specifications described by Ron Pattinson and others. To ensure that attendees get to taste the full range (and to enforce responsible limits at an on-campus event), each guest of legal drinking age will be provided tickets redeemable for samples. The number of tickets provided will be equal to the number of different beers available. If you are at all conceivably in your twenties, please have your photo ID available at check-in.

I ran out of tickets! Can I buy more?

Unfortunately, no - we cannot sell additional tickets. However, if money is burning a hole in your pocket, the EMU student Fermentation Club will appreciate your tips to support their new club!

Is there more information about the beers provided?

Information will be provided at the event, and on this website in the very near future.

Can I bring my own beers to share?

Unfortunately, we are not able to permit outside beverages at this on-campus event.

Where can I stay up to date on this event?

Watch this site, and if you're on Facebook, you can follow the event here and EMU Fermentation Science here.
