Welcome to the SES Media Center!

Our goal is to make the media center the heart of the school. We desire to make it a warm and inviting place where students, staff, and parents feel welcome and enjoy learning.

Hours of Operation

Students may check out two books at a time and keep them up to two weeks. Books may be renewed if no one else has requested the book.

Books may be exchanged daily.

No fines are charged for overdue books. Students are encouraged to return books on time out of consideration for others. A student with an overdue book will not be allowed to check out another book.

Lost/Damaged Items

Books checked out to a student are his/her responsibility. Emanuel County policy states that lost or damaged items must be paid for.

Flexible Scheduling

The media center remains open throughout the day. Students may come at any time alone or in small groups to exchange books. Students with VIP passes can come to read, work or "play" on a computer or use an iPad.

Lexile Levels

Students' reading levels are based on several assessments - MAP testing, SRI and GA Milestones. Based on these reading levels, students are assigned a Lexile Range. This range is contains the levels of books that will provide optimum growth for the student. Our levels are color-coded to help students locate books in their level.
