Laura is a 1944 film noir featuring Dana Andrews as Mark McPherson, a detective investigating a murder. In the process of this investigation, the detective falls in love with the murdered woman. It is one of the most celebrated film noirs of the 1940s, and in 1999, the Library of Congress' National Film Registry selected this movie for preservation because it is "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."
