Since You Went Away was an epic drama movie in 1944 about what life was physically and mentally like for ordinary families during WWII. It was inspired by Margaret Buell Wielder’s book: Since You Went Away: Letters to a Soldier from His Wife. John Cromwell directed and David O. Selznick wrote this film.
