Colin Sullivan (Mr. Smith) is basically just happy to be here. You could have seen him in green in The Phantom Tollbooth or in red in A Flea In Her Ear (Both right here at Brightpoint!), but if you haven't, don't let this one cloud your judgment. He's even cooler in real life. Huge thanks to Russell in the wings!
Emma Rambo (Shelby Holcomb) is absolutely thrilled to be working with an amazing group of people to make this show possible. This is her third production here at Brightpoint Community College where she is pursuing theater with the intention of transferring to VCU. She has enjoyed putting a great show together with a wonderful cast and crew who have all worked incredibly hard to make this happen. A huge thanks to them!
Mahala Redden (Beth) is extremely excited to "shine over this sad empty town" with the Lynn Theatre's Production of John Proctor is the Villain. She has been in many productions since high school, and through college. She will not disclose all of what she has been in, but her most recent performance was in The Phantom Tollbooth as Milo! She would like to first thank her parents for supporting her through the toughest nights, and second, to the cast for always being there!
Mazlyn Jennings (Nell Shaw) is a recent addition to Brightpoint Theatre, but is delighted to be an active participant in what marks her second Brightpoint production. After making her debut with The Phantom Tollbooth last spring, a show that solidified her love for performing, she is so happy to gain new knowledge, new experiences, and new friends from the incredible work done with the cast and crew of John Proctor is the Villain.
Gracie Wainright (Ivy Watkins) is so very excited to be acting in her third Brightpoint theatre production, with yet another cast full of great friends! You may have seen her as the cunningly quick-witted maid, Eugenie, in A Flea in Her Ear (2023), the delightfully sinister and sassy Demon of Insincerity in The Phantom Tollbooth (2024), or maybe you unknowingly witnessed her spotlight operation for Once On This Island (2023) and Hawk’s Ridge (2024)! Keep an eye out, you never know where she may be lurking in your local community theatre production!
Casey Allen (Raelynn Nix) is overjoyed to be in this production with an extraordinary cast and crew. This will be Casey’s third production at Brightpoint Community College. Casey is actively pursuing a degree in theater and hopes to transfer to VCU next fall.
Joshua Shay (Mason) is honored to participate in his sixth production here at Brightpoint Community College. Joshua has been an avid member of theatre clubs, classes, and productions for as long back as he can remember. Other roles of his include Camile Chandebise in Brightpoint’s production of A Flea In Her Ear and CAT's production of Keep On Laughing as Bobby. Joshua will be dedicating this performance to his grandfather, David.
Nathan Hamill (Lee) is thrilled to be part of this production of John Proctor is The Villain. He has been in several shows throughout college and high school such as Jekyll and Hyde the Musical, Elephant’s Graveyard, Clue, The Phantom Tollbooth, and many others. He enjoys the challenges this role has brung to the table as well as the opportunities it has given. He enjoys playing DND and other tabletop games and is running a game. He is currently a Acting Major with plans of becoming a theater teacher eventually.
Kiyah Burrell-Junius (Bailey Gallagher) is happy to be making her on-stage debut in John Proctor is the Villain. Kiyah is currently attending Brightpoint Community College for her Associate’s in Visual Arts specializing in Film Production. She has been a production assistant in a variety of projects in film and television, and she is so grateful for the opportunity of bringing this amazing story to life!
Thomas Jones (Connor Henderson) is a returning actor from years ago to the Lynn Theater, starting with Dark of The Moon in 2018 and a few others since. They are thankful for their family being a line of actors and directors, and themselves explored show choir in their high school years Now they return for another performance on the stage once again!
Kerrigan Sullivan (Producing Artistic Director, Intimacy and Fight Director) is currently the Department Chair of Performing Arts at Brightpoint Community College and the Producing Artistic Director of The Lynn Theatre at Brightpoint. She has been teaching theatre and communication courses at the college for 22 years now, since moving from New York City to Virginia. Prior to landing in Virginia, she worked as an actress for years in New York City and regionally in theatre, film and television. A few favorites are A Christmas Carol at Madison Square Garden, The Batman Forever Stunt Show at Six Flags Great Adventure, Sex and the City and Guiding Light. Kerrigan has directed locally with CAT and Firehouse Theatre Project as well as in and around New York City at various venues including The Producers Club, Samuel Beckett Theater, Raw Space, NADA, Expanded Arts, The Riant and Northern Westchester Center for the Arts to name a few. As intimacy director, Kerrigan received training from TIE (Theatrical Intimacy Education) and is working towards full certification as an intimacy educator and advocate. Kerrigan holds a B.F.A. in Theatre from New York University’s Tisch School for the Arts and an M.F.A. in Theatre Directing from Brooklyn College.
Katherine Moore (Director) is honored to be returning to The Lynn Theatre at Brightpoint Community College! The last time she was here, she had the privilege of directing the second show produced by The Lynn Theatre, Extremities. Outside of Brightpoint, her recent credits include Assistant Directing Airswimming and The Pink Unicorn at Richmond Triangle Players. During the day, she works at Safe Harbor, a local nonprofit that supports survivors of sexual and domestic violence and human trafficking. She is so grateful to the cast and crew for being the radiant and wonderful humans that they are and making this show so hard to say good-bye to.
Alleigh Scantling (Production Stage Manager, Lighting Designer) has had the honor of working with the Lynn Theatre at Brightpoint Community College for over eight years, serving as production manager, stage manager, and lighting designer. Passionate about supporting both students and the community, her favorite credits include Hawk’s Ridge, Once on This Island, Jump Baby, Legacy of Light, and The Phantom Tollbooth. Special thanks to Matt for their unwavering love and support throughout this creative journey. Also, this cast and crew is just adorable, y’all. <3
Russell Paulette (Assistant Stage Manager) has served in a variety of roles at Brightpoint Community College over the past few seasons. Prior to that, he has directed numerous one-acts and musicals for high school audiences, earning several awards, including the 2016-2017 Group 1A State Runner-Up for his original one-act, Thieves of Mercy. A one-time playwriting finalist for New Voices for the Theatre, another of Russell’s one-acts, The Blue and the Grey, is published by Theatrefolk Ltd.
Lindsey Ladnier (Costume Designer) is an experienced local costume designer with an eye for color. She designed several shows for the University of Denver and Theatre Esprit Asia before moving to Virginia. Locally, she has worked in tandem with Chamberlayne Actors Theatre and Richmond Shakespeare, and as resident costume designer for the Lynn Theatre. Some of her most recent works include The Phantom Tollbooth, Painting Churches, and Lord of the Flies.
Adrian Gordon (Sound Designer) is a theatre tech major at Brightpoint Community College. He is passionate about sound design and the performing arts. Past work of his is being a sound technician for Brightpoint Community College's production of "The Phantom Tollbooth." He hopes to one day become a skilled sound technician and designer. When not working, Adrian enjoys reading, playing video games, and hanging out with his 3 cats
Sadie Tucker (Run Crew) is thrilled to be a part of John Proctor is the Villain. Her favorite credits include Brightpoint Community College’s A Flea in Her Ear and The Phantom Tollbooth. Although her time at Brightpoint is ending, she is excited to start a new chapter at VCU this spring. She wants to thank everyone for coming and hopes you enjoy the show.
Samantha Richardson (Wardrobe Supervisor) is excited to be a part of the John Proctor team in a position she’s never filled before in technical theatre. When Samantha is not doing tech theatre work you will find them on stage in shows such as A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Puck), Legacy of Light (Émilie du Châtelet), A Flea in Her Ear (Lucienne), Dracula: A Radio Drama Adaptation (Mina Harker), and more.
