Hi, my name is Aya (She/Her) and I was born in Jordan, currently living in Ottawa! I find myself spending time watching movies and tv shows, my current favourite being Suits. Fun fact, in music class I’m known to be Goofy, apparently due to my personality.
This year, I’ve decided to rejoin music class and have been currently learning the saxophone for the past year. In previous years, I learned to play trombone in the middle school band. Music is a big part of my life and my favourite artists include: Alec Benjamin, Glass Animals and Artic Monkeys!
"Waterfall" is a soundscape composition written for the piano, harp, violin, violoncello, glockenspiel, and celesta. The theme of this composition was inspired by the journey of water in a big waterfall. To reflect the concept of water, much of my rhythmic ideas were based on the ripples of water, as more and more texture is built for the climax. I wanted the listeners to experience the slow build-up of water that leads to a waterfall and how all the instruments combine to create a cohesive idea.
This is "Flowers Need Rain" by Banx & Ranx and Preston Pablo is performed by myself and Tina Zhang on the violin, May Wang on the piano, Aya Al Khalili on the saxophone, and is sung by Sophia Walker.
Taylor Swift’s iconic song, "Lover" was performed by Aya Al Khaliili on the saxophone, May on the drums, Tina on the piano, Kayla on the violin and Chloe on the clarinet.
This is a remix of "The Way You Felt" by Alec Benjamin.
