17th ANNUAL MEETING of the Slavic Linguistics Society (SLS-17)

The Slavic Linguistics Society will not exclude participation of any member for reasons of heritage, nationality, or citizenship, which we recognize in most cases to be outside of an individual’s immediate control. 

However, under the current circumstances and given the official SLS position on the invasion of Ukraine, individuals from Russia who wish to participate must do so only as independent, unaffiliated scholars and not under the banner of their institution, if that institution has officially expressed support for the invasion of and/or subsequent war in Ukraine. We require an explicit acknowledgement of this condition; namely, scholars from Russian institutions officially supporting the war may only register to the SLS-17 conference as independent, unaffiliated scholars.
