Hayate Shimizu
Philosophy student specializing in Kantian Ethics and AI Ethics
I am Hayate Shimizu, a PhD student at the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, Hokkaido University. My research focuses on Kantian ethics and AI ethics. In the field of Kant's studies, I explore two main areas. First, I examine Kant’s concept of virtue and the role of rational feelings in moral striving. Second, I aim to explore how Kant's ethical framework can address contemporary ethical challenges, especially those involving non-human entities such as animals and robots. In addition to my work in Kantian ethics, I engage in interdisciplinary research on the ethical implications of artificial intelligence and robotics.
